I ended up graduating one year earlier than Scottie. I graduated with a degree in International Business and Spanish. I moved to Madison, WI for a job. Naturally I started thinking about my future and therefore began discussing with Scottie about our future. We agreed that it would be best to wait to get engaged at least until Scottie was done with school.
On December 17, 2007, Scottie finally graduated! He graduated with a degree in Management.
I was so proud of his accomplishment. My parents and I held a small graduation party with our families. It was so nice and fun to spend time with the people we love the most. After the family left, I had to start getting ready for a second party! This time with our friends. I had sent out an invitation on evite.com. If anyone has ever used evite before, you know that you can see when people are looking at your invitation. Well, I kept watching all of our friends view the invitation and nobody was RSVPing. I was getting so mad! I called a couple of our friends and they

And that's when it happened. Scottie got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was shocked. I don't know if I ever did say yes. I think I just kept on saying "Oh my gosh!"
Seconds later all of our friends popped out of our sun room and yelled surprise! It turns out that the party that I had been planning for Scottie's graduation actually turned out to be an engagement party that Scottie was planning!

And he certainly did not wait long 'after he graduated' to propose to me! It was such a special night. Shortly after we set the date of April 18, 2009. I am so excited to be planning our wedding. I have had such a fun time planning it and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with our friends and family.
